Project Global: Building Nights in Buenos Aires -
Individual and group academic project In the Berlage Center for Advances Studies in Architecture and Urban Design, 2017Located in Puerto Nuevo, an immense piece of infrastructure in the city centre. Building nights encourages the design of a 24 hours’ new part of the city in order to connect the traditional grid city and the riverfront city. Generating new opportunities to create spaces for agreement that organise a continuous process of social exchange.
The project site alongside Darsena F in Puerto Nuevo, a 1km strip of land bounded by water and highway, it is the key site in which the twenty-four-hour city is already naturally happening. The transformation of a Highway next to the site, into a new connection between grid city and riverfront city brings the opportunity to create and restore connections between the grid and the riverfront; Darsena F is the gateway to the riverfront, which do consolidate an image of the waterfront city and celebrate its dynamic twenty-four hour rhythms.
